“Wetin DJs Do Sef”

Music is the soul food and how it is dished matters too. DJ is an acronym for disk jockey as you already know and a disc jockey is a person who selects and plays recorded music for an audience. Sounds kind of easy right?

What DJs do is not limited to just playing songs at parties.

Recently at a club in Lagos, the club DJ had not been impressive for about 30minutes then he played this song that I normally won’t move and next thing I found myself tapping my feet, that was some good mixing!

Now think about those songs you wouldn’t listen to normally, those ones that you will skip through easily but you cannot but dance hard to it at clubs/parties………..yea there you go, the DJ made it possible.

A good DJ does quite a bit of work for artiste helping the latter showcase his/her work at the right time and place. Imagine how many tracks that won’t make it commercially if DJs didn’t play them at the clubs, parties and all.

This is not to justify a crappy song; at least you won’t eat a sour meal no matter how beautiful it was served. Content is king!

In the entertainment circles, DJs are still one of the most crucial in the loop, from parties to shows to even radio. Imagine how boring a radio program will be without a good DJ to fix the right songs to play at the right time            (even though they still work hand in hand with presenters).

“There’s no way that if you get participation out of a audience, can they (audience) say you didn’t rock it”-  Jam Master Jay.

Are you still asking “wetin DJs dey do sef”?
